Housewarming!
Welcome to my blog.
While there is not much to say here about myself, because most of it has been said in the About section, I'd like to take this opportunity to elaborate on this blog instead.
For long, I had been planning on doing something like this, and I am glad that this has finally come to fruition.
Now, this little endeavour of mine is all about documenting, and bringing forth to you, scenes from the magnificent past of my beautiful city, the Cultural Capital of India, the City of Joy, Calcutta.
From its own mighty indigenous rulers, to Nawabs and Sultans, from the Mughals, to the British Raj, she has endured it all, so much so that Calcutta has also proudly served as the Capital of the country during the Colonial Ages. Therefore, there is plenty to explore, in The City of Palaces, and if I could bring even a spoonful from this ocean of culture and heritage to my readers, I will consider the purpose of my endeavour served.
Here, I aim to share some occasional trivia, and interesting content from the past of this city rich in heritage, but the primary emphasis shall be on documenting life in Calcutta in the present day too and sometimes, contrasting it with the past. Like every other thing in the universe, here too, are some merits and demerits, and them, I aim to shed light on.
While I wish to be as regular as possible in presenting my content, I apologise for any irregularity in doing so. I am a student, therefore I must maintain a balance between my education and this. Additionally, I am unwilling to compromise the quality of content here, and research takes time, much like moderation. Therefore, I apologise in advance, for any delays, but it is all for the best.
Also, I am always open to suggestions, and contributions to this cause, all of which will duly be credited. I hope you enjoy my work here.
Thanks for coming by.
